Core Values
At G.R.A.C.E. Homes, our name reflects the heart of who we are and what we stand for. Each letter represents the values we live by and the qualities we aim to inspire in every child entrusted to our care.

G – Guidance
We walk alongside each child with compassion and understanding, helping them find direction and confidence in their journey. Through mentorship and positive example, we guide them toward hope, healing, and self-discovery.
R – Resilience
Life’s challenges can be overwhelming, but resilience turns pain into power. We teach our children that setbacks don’t define them, their strength, courage, and determination do. Every step forward is a victory worth celebrating.

A – Advocacy
Every child deserves a voice and to know that their voice matters. We stand up for their rights, needs, and dreams, ensuring they are heard, valued, and supported in every aspect of their growth.
C – Care
At the heart of G.R.A.C.E. Homes is care, genuine, unconditional care that sees beyond circumstances. We provide a nurturing environment where children feel safe, accepted, and loved, so healing can begin.

E – Empowerment
We believe in the incredible potential within every child. By teaching life skills, building confidence, and fostering independence, we empower our youth to take control of their future and believe in their own strength.

Foster Care Q&A
What is foster care?
Foster care is a temporary, safe home for children who can't live with their families right now. It gives them a supportive place to live while their family works on a plan to make their home safe again.
What is the main goal of foster care?
The number one goal is almost always reunification. This means helping a child return to their birth family as soon as it is safely possible.
If a child cannot safely go home, the goal changes to finding them a "forever family" through adoption or permanent placement with a relative.
Who oversees foster care in Texas?
The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), often known as Child Protective Services (CPS), manages the system. They partner with private, licensed organizations called Child-Placing Agencies (CPAs) to find, train, and support foster families.
Who can be a foster parent?
You don't need a "perfect" family to be a great foster parent. You can be single, married, a renter, or a homeowner.
The basic requirements include:
-
You must be at least 21 years old.
-
You must pass all background checks.
-
You must be financially stable (able to support your own household).
-
Your home must pass a "home study" to ensure it's safe.
-
You must be in good physical and emotional health.
-
You must complete all required training.
What is the greatest need?
There is a critical need for families who are willing and able to care for:
-
Teenagers
-
Sibling groups (so they can stay together)
-
Children with special medical or behavioral needs
